Betty J. Dickey's Obituary
Betty J. Dickey, 79, formerly of Alliance, died on Saturday, April 27, 2002, in Palm Bay, Florida . Born in Alliance, on March 28, 1923, she had lived most all of her life in the Alliance area. Since 1997 she had lived with both of her daughters in Virginia and Florida. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Thelma Joyce and Charles Duncan of Palm Bay, FL, and daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Lee and Michael Lysaght of Yorktown, VA; two granddaughters; Jennifer and Patricia Lysaght; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, William I. Dickey on March 18, 1981 whom she married on September 21, 1940; her infant son, Roger Lee Dickey in 1941; her parents, John H. and Esther (Evans) Harrison; two sisters, Thelma B. Laskey and Florence Schuller, and a brother, Melvin Harrison. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, May 4, 2002, from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, May 4, 2002, at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Joe Peters officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
