Bertha J. "Bert" Hunter's Obituary
Bertha J. "Bert" Hunter, 79, of Alliance, died on Saturday, February 16, 2002, at 6:55 a.m., at her home. Born in Alliance on September 21, 1922, she lived most of her life in this area. A 1939 graduate of Alliance High School, she retired from Marlboro Manufacturing. Mrs. Hunter was a member of the YMCA Swimnastics and had volunteered at the Alliance Community Hospital Snack Shop. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Chris Kilpatrick of Alliance; her son and daughter-in-law Ralph and Janet Hunter of Augusta, Kansas; four grandchildren, Ian Kilpatrick, David Hunter, Sarah Hunter and Jeff Hunter; one great-granddaughter, Rain Hunter; two brothers, Robert Rohrer of Alliance and James Rohrer of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Allen D. Hunter on April 23, 1991; her parents, Ralph and Gertrude (Scott) Rohrer; a sister, Alice Collucci; and a brother, Michael Rohrer. Funeral services will be held at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, February 21, 2002, at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Joseph Peters officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 20, 2002, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
