Bernard Brown, Sr.'s Obituary
Bernard Brown, 73, of Titusville, FL, and formerly of Alliance, died on Thursday, September 2, 2010, at his home. Born on July 23, 1937 in New Paris, PA, Bernard moved to Alliance in 1950 and had resided in Florida for the past ten years. He attended Alliance First Assembly of God Church. Mr. Brown retired from Babcock and Wilcox Tubular Products after 33 years of service, where he was employed as a Crane Operator. Bernard was an avid reader and enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing and especially woodworking and crafts. He is survived by his wife, Dorthey (Zeigler) Brown whom he married on Oct. 29, 1955; a daughter, Cindy (Dale) Dorsey of Beloit; two sons, Bernie (Lisa) Brown, Jr. of Alliance and Bill Brown of Alliance; seven grandchildren, David, Dana, Amanda, AnaMarie, Daniel, Jennifer and Sara, four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Thelma (Gene) Wentz of Martinsburg, PA, Belvadine Eash of Sebring and Connie McMillen of Alliance; a brother, Earl (Barbara) Brown, Jr. of Alum Bank, PA; two sisters-in-law, Betty Brown of Alliance and Sharon Brown of Sebring; one brother-in-law, Ray McDonald of Alliance, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Earl and Alma (Fleegle) Brown; two sisters, Vernetta McDonald and Violet Allison; and four brothers, Virgil Hainsey, Floyd Hainsey, William Gerald Brown and Sheldon Brown. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Michael Ping of Alliance First Assembly of God Church officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
