Barbara Jean O'Dell's Obituary
Barbara Jean O’Dell (née Wehner), 78, of Alliance, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025 at 5:56 am amongst family, following a cardiac event.
Born on November 13, 1946, to Foster and Vera Wehner (née Bell). Barbara (Barb or Barbie to friends and family) lived in Alliance all her life. She was a graduate of Alliance High School in 1964 and retired from the United States Postal Service in 2018.
Barb enjoyed bowling, playing card games and was known for always having a puzzle going on a table.
She is survived by her two sons, William E. (Becky) O’Dell of Alliance and Michael T. (Alisha) O’Dell of Maricopa, AZ; seven grandchildren, Christianna (Nick) Kunkle, William M. (Kim) O’Dell, Krista Daniel, Justin M. Nichols, Michael A. F. O’Dell, Madison N. O’Dell and Olivia E. O’Dell; nine great-grandchildren, Novalea Kennedy, Cayleb Bauer, Arabella Bauer, Gracen Best, Jacob Kunkle, Evelynn R. O’Dell, Julianna Kunkle, Ayla Walrath and Deon O’Dell; her brother, Charles F. ( Mona) Wehner; her sister-in-law, Marsha Wehner; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Foster and Vera Wehner; her daughter, Tina Marie O’Dell; her husband, Donald E. O’Dell; her brother, Thomas E. Wehner and her best friend, Joan Hill.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during calling hours on Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 6 pm-8 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
Her Service will be held at Vine Street United Methodist Church on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 11 am, officiated by Pastor Mark Reich, of Beloit Friends Church. Burial will take place at Alliance City Cemetery following Barbara’s cremation where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband and her daughter.
