Avis M. Brimlow's Obituary
Avis Maxine Brimlow, 79, of Alliance, died on Friday, September 21, 2007, at her home. She was born on February 8, 1928 in Frenchton, WV, and lived in Alliance most of her life. Avis had been employed by the former Trianon Restaurant, where she worked as a waitress. Mrs. Brimlow loved flower gardening and enjoyed many years of companionship with her pets. She is survived by her two grandchildren, Ronald Brimlow and Lindsay Thomas; three sisters, Juanita Newsome and Garnet Roberts of Buchannon, WV and Cletis Marsh of Akron, OH; two brothers, Fay (Betty Lou) Heavner of Ireland, WV and Lowell Thomas (Jean) Heavner of Diamond, OH; many nieces and nephews; long-time friend Dee Sponsler; and her beloved dog Heidi. Avis was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald R. Brimlow in 1982; stepson, Ronald R. Brimlow; her parents, Ira Raymond and Edna Elizabeth (Tolliver) Heavner; stepmother Donice (Lee) Heavner; three sisters, Genevieve Rexroad, Mildred Gregory and Lolita Pearl Heavner; and four brothers, Basil, Robert, Burton and James Heavner. The family would like to express great thanks and appreciation to friend, Nancy Johnson, for the loving care and comfort she has provided for many years. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, October 6, 2007, from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Memorial services will begin at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Joseph A. Peters officiating.
