Arthur Mitchell Sayers' Obituary
Arthur Mitchell "Bud" Sayers, 93, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 28, 2020.
Born on November 7, 1926 in Alliance, to Louis and Jenny (Wise) Sayers, he lived in Alliance all of his life.
Arthur was a member of the Atwater Congregational Church.
A veteran of WWII, he served our country in the U.S. Army in the Asiatic Pacific Theater.
Arthur was employed at Good Year Aerospace as a supervisor and retired after more than 45 years of service.
He was a life member of the American Legion Post#166, VFW Post #1036, and the Loyal Order of the Moose. Bud was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Grand Lodge of F&AM of Ohio and the Sebring Lodge #626.
Bud enjoyed golfing, bowling and boating and was a founding member of the Alliance Auxiliary Police Force.
Survivors include his three daughters, Frances (Larry) Kirby of Alliance, Rose Carpenter-Clayton of Sebring and Linda (Scott) Hustus-Edwards of Alliance; his son, Danny (Helen) Sayers of Alliance; eight grandchildren, Anthony Paul Kirby, Mitchell G. Kirby, Tonya Glemba, Jason Hustus, Aaron Sayers, Christopher Sayers, Randy Carpenter and Jennifer Webster; many step-grandchildren; a sister, Freda O'Dell of Alliance and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Christina Chiporo-Sayers; his two sisters, S. M. Walpert and Genevieve A. Graham; a brother, Richard Sayers; and his parents.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, with Rev. Rich Hall, of Atwater Congregational Church, officiating. Burial, with military honors, will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park.
