Arthur J. Hall's Obituary
Arthur J. Hall, 79, of Alliance, died on Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at 6:12 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. A resident of Alliance for most of his life, Mr. Hall was born in Warren on August 2, 1924. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1943-1946. Arthur was a member of the American Legion, Post 166, and the V.F. W., Post 1036. Mr. Hall attended the Union Avenue United Methodist Church and was a retired self- employed car dealer. He had a private pilot license and enjoyed flying and boating. He was a member of the F.O. Eagles and also a life member of the Dante Club. He is survived by his wife, Ann (Burton) Hall; two sons, Robert Hall and Arthur J. Hall, Jr., both of Alliance; three grandchildren, Brenda Court of Alliance, Cindi Hall of Palm Springs, FL, and Gary Hall of Alliance; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Frances Springer of Marlboro; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death his parents, Arthur and Ethel (Richard) Hall. Friends may call at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 :00 a.m. with the Rev. Gordon Ruggles officiating. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
