Arthur D. Beltz's Obituary
Arthur D. Beltz, 58, of Alliance, died with his family by his side on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at 5:15 p.m. at Aultman Hospital. He was born on October 2, 1951 in Alliance where he lived all of his life. Arthur attended Sacred Heart of Mary Elementary School and Marlington High School. Mr. Beltz was a self-employed agent for the Ashland and Campbell Oil companies. He was a member of Beechwood Christian Church where he served as a deacon, youth group leader and a member of the choir. He was also a member of the Washington Ruritans, with 23 years of perfect attendance, and participated in their minstrel shows for 13 years. Art was a baseball and wrestling coach. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and especially loved spending time with his family. Arthur was a loving father to Toni (Scott) Powers of Alliance and Andy (Amanda) Beltz of Louisville and the dedicated husband to Charlene (Haynam) Beltz. He was also a loving grandfather to Alyssa, Olivia and Isaac and a beloved brother to his siblings, Cherie (Owen) Davidson of Alliance, Bill (Karen) Beltz of Bluffton, SC, Mary (Stephen) Krauss of Cincinnati, Tom Beltz of Alliance, Jim (Julie) Beltz of Massillon, Joe Beltz of Canton and Larry (Patti) Beltz of Alliance; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his mother, Rita Mary (Weyer) Beltz; and a brother, Charles Arthur Beltz. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, June 17, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. with his children facilitating the celebration service. Interment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
