Anthony J. Nicholson's Obituary
Anthony Nicholson, 16, of Alliance, died on Monday, October 5, 2009 at 8:48 p.m. Born on October 12, 1992 in Alliance, he lived in Alliance all of his life, and was a junior at St. Thomas Aquinas. While Anthony enjoyed being with friends and listening to music, his greatest love was baseball. He started playing around age seven and most recently played for his high school team, a Hot Stove team and a traveling team. As short stop for the Blue Wave he played in Omaha, Nebraska and New York. He also played for the Hot Stove EE William Penn team, which won the state championship in 2009. He is survived by his parents, Shannon Custar of Alliance and Kevin Nicholson of N. Benton; grandparents, Beatrice Ross, Alva Custar and Bernard McElroy all of Alliance and Dyann Magee of MS; five sisters, Ashley Nicholson of the home, Torrie Bowers, Stefani Nicholson, and Jadi Nicholson all of Alliance and Kourtni Nicholson of N. Benton; two brothers, Keshon Nicholson of TX and Kameron Nicholson of N. Benton; an uncle, Erik Custar; a niece and nephew; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will receive friends at St. Thomas Aquinas High School on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas High School on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Fr. Thomas P. Dyer, as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Union Cemetery in Alliance.
