Anthony J. Morelli's Obituary
Anthony J. Morelli, 72, of Alliance, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Canton. Born on January 24, 1941in Youngstown, OH, he lived in Alliance for 50 years. He was a graduate of Boardman High School and was a 1963 graduate of Youngstown State, with a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He had previously been employed at the Genie Company as an Electrical Engineer for over 30 years, and then retired from Ametek in Kent, Ohio after 10 years of service as Senior Project Engineer, Agency Codes & Standards. Mr. Morelli was a member of Sleepy Hollow Country Club for over 40 years and had a passion for golfing with his wife and friends. He was also an avid West Branch sports fan and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren performing in the band. He was also an avid Browns and Indians fan. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn (Grodski) Morelli, whom he married on June 1, 1963; two sons, Tony (Naomi) Morelli of Homeworth, OH, and Michael (Cheryl) Morelli of Toledo, OH; three grandchildren, Rachel Morelli, Hanna Morelli and Matthew Morelli; his mother, Alice (Ross) Morelli; a brother, Louis Morelli of New Port Richey, FL; his mother-in-law, Helen Grodski of Youngstown and his sister-in-law, Jeannette Frondorf of Slidell, LA. Preceding him in death was his daughter, Cynthia (Morelli) Black; and his father, Perry Morelli. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, January 16, 2014, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, January 17 2014, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Matthew J. Mankowski as celebrant. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, OH.
