Anthony J. Favazzo, Jr.'s Obituary
Anthony J. Favazzo, Jr., 52, of Alliance, passed away at Mercy Medical Center on December 15, 2003. Tony received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Walsh College, North Canton in 1973. In 1987, he established a photography studio in Alliance and later moved the business to North Canton as owner and photographer of Studio Two Custom Photography. His beloved family and friends will remember him as an accomplished musician and composer. Guitar Magazine published the following review of his album, Minus Tide in 1980: Jazz and Tony Favazzo are old and dear friends; one listen to his excellent electric guitar playing will convince you of that. The LP's eight original tunes showcase Favazzo's mastery of mainstream, bebop, and improvisational styles --- from the up-tempo Minus Tide and the eerie, melodic magic in Poltergeists to the Latin-flavored rhythms of The Cicada. Minus Tide was also self- produced, and the mix is clean and well- conceived. Great songs, great playing, great production; what else is there to say? Tony is survived by his mother, Mary C. Favazzo of Alliance; sister and brother-in-law, Toni and Hugh Wilson of College Station, TX; and nephew, Quentin Wilson of Chatsworth, CA. He was preceded in death by sister, Cynthia Vitkosky, and father, Anthony J. Favazzo, Sr. Memorial services will be held at Sharer- Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, December 20, 2003, at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Fr. J. Patrick Manning officiating. There will be no calling hours.
