Anna Lillian (Kron) Karper's Obituary
Anna Lillian (Kron) Karper, 98, of Alliance, died on Sunday, December 21, 2003, at 10:55 a.m. at McCrea Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Stanhope, NJ, on May 21, 1905, she had lived in Alliance since 1915. Mrs. Karper owned and operated the West Vine Street Grocery for 45 years, and was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church, the Altar & Rosary Society, the Infant of Prague, and the Legion of Mary. She was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary 40 & 8, and the World War I Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert L. Karper who died April 27, 1940; her parents, John and Thecla (Randzel) Kron; three sisters, Elizabeth Brandani, Mary Mitchell, and Sr. Ann Catherine; and five brothers, John, Jacob, Joe, Andy, and Frank Kron. Informal calling hours will be held at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, December 27, 2003, from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Regina Coeli Catholic Church on Saturday, December 27, 2003, at 10:00 a.m., with the Rev. Fr. J. Patrick Manning as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
