Ann Gwen Yarian's Obituary
Ann Gwen Yarian, 94, of Alliance, died on Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at Altercare of Alliance. Born in Amsterdam, OH on August 3, 1908, she had been a resident of Alliance for all of her life. Mrs. Yarian was a longtime member of the Vine Street United Methodist Church and a life member of the Alliance Senior Citizens. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Edward Moffett of Alliance; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald D. and Mary Varian of Columbus; 8 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Yarian Sr. on September 16, 1977 (whom she married on February 25, 1930); her son, Wilbur, Jr. in 1977; one grandson; her parents, John George and Mary (Jones) Savage; sister, Jane Gladys Williams; and five brothers, Thomas W, John L., David L., George A., and Bill C. Savage. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, September 6, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Gordon Thomas of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Alliance City Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, September 5, 2002, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
