Ann M. Kelleher 's Obituary
Ann Mary (Slaggy) Kelleher, 91, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 8:49 am at Alliance Community Hospital.
Born on June 21, 1926 in Campbell, Ohio to James E. and Anna (Simon) Szilagyi, she lived in Alliance for most of her life.
A 1945 graduate of Alliance High School, Ann was member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1036, Ladies Auxiliary, Charter Member of Knights of Columbus #558 Ladies Auxiliary, Pink Lady at Alliance Community Hospital, and the Alliance Senior Center.
Ann was a "Rosie The Riveter" during WWII at Consolidated Air in Tuscon, AZ. She was the eldest member of both the Slaggy and Kelleher families.
Survivors include eight sons, Michael Kelleher of Norman, OK, Patrick Kelleher of Alliance, OH, Daniel Kelleher of Alliance, OH, Thomas Kelleher of Tocca Falls, GA, Mark Kelleher of Oklahoma City, OK, Matthew Kelleher of Green, OH, David Kelleher of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, and Terry Kelleher of Norman, OK; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brother, Julius Szilagyi of Eagle Point, OR; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her first husband, Timothy James Kelleher, whom she married on August 31, 1946 and he died on October 19, 1973. Mr. Kelleher was a previous Alliance City Councilman and was a Councilman at Large between 1966-1973; second husband, Donald L. Cunin whom she married on July 5, 1990 and he died on Nov. 20, 1998; her son, Timothy James Kelleher, Jr.; her parents; five brothers, Joseph, Charles, James, Michael and Gabriel; one sister, Helen Rose; and a granddaughter, Lesley Ann Kelleher.
The family will gather on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 9:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Her Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am, with Rev. Matthew J. Mankowski as celebrant. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Fund, 427 E. Broadway St., Alliance, OH 44601.
