Ann M. Stroia Haldeman's Obituary
Ann M. Stroia Haldeman, 92, of Alliance, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at her home. Born on January 27, 1921 in Mt. Braddock, PA, she lived in Alliance most of her life. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She retired after 38 years from the Alliance Manufacturing Co., where she was employed as an Assembler. Ann also served as a former President of their local union. In her past-time, she enjoyed cooking, gardening and working crossword puzzles. Survivors include her daughter, Geri Stroia of Alliance; a son, Gene (Kathy) Stroia of Alliance; daughter-in-law, Judy Stroia of Alliance; grandchildren, Kris (Mike) Alekna of Canton, OH, Geno Stroia of Austin, TX, and Scott Callahan of Canton, OH; a great-granddaughter, Isabel Callahan of Canton, OH; a sister, Betty (Tony) Palone of Rockhill, SC; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Homer Haldeman; a son, Richard Stroia; and her parents, Carlo Gaetano "Guy" and Vincenza "Jenny" (Rizzo) Capacchietti. The family will receive friends at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday, January 6, 2014 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
