Ann Gansel's Obituary
Ann F. Gansel, 75, of Alliance, died on Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at 5:55 p.m., at Aultman Hospital. She was born on February 24, 1934 in Alliance, to the late Arther Leon "Lee" and Ruth (Keen) Rawlings, and lived in Alliance all of her life. She loved attending Abiding Savior Lutheran Church and was a member of their Rebecca Circle. Ann graduated from Alliance High School and earned a medical records degree at Stark State College. Mrs. Gansel was a medical records coder for almost 22 years at Alliance Community Hospital and was formerly a librarian at Liberty grade school when her children were in school. Ann is survived by daughter, Linda (Michael) Schwallie of Canton; two grandsons, Michael (Angela) Scullion of FL and Gregory (Jessica Lenigar) Scullion of Canton; daughter-in-law, Sally Gansel of Alliance; three granddaughters, Emily Gansel of VA, Allison Gansel of Alliance and Carly Gansel of Alliance; daughter, Janet Lofgren of Alliance; granddaughter, Katie (Brad) Bishop of Alliance; great-granddaughter, Savannah Bishop of Alliance; and granddaughter, Laura Lofgren of Alliance. Preceding her in death was her son, Stephen Gansel; her companion for 18 years, Joseph Stabile; and her parents. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, January 25, 2010 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Megan Elliott officiating. Interment will take place at Alliance City Cemetery.
