Ann M. Birchak's Obituary
Ann M. Birchak, 96, of Alliance, died on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at 6:40 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born on October 9, 1912 in Larksville, PA, she graduated from Larksville High School. In 1945 she moved to Alliance and then lived in Florida from 1976 until 2007 when she returned to Alliance. She was a member of St. Ambrose Church in Deerfield Beach, FL and a Charter member of Regina Coeli. Ann had been employed with J.C. Penny and O Neils and retired from the Alliance Manufacturing Company. In her past-time, she enjoyed gardening and traveling. She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Tuel of Homosassa, FL and Marie (Tony) Conny of Alliance; four grandchildren, Brian Tuel, Michele Mileti, Anthony Joseph "Joe" Conny II and John Conny; five great-grandchildren, Chad Hancock, Danielle Hancock, Anthony Joseph Conny III, Jacob Michael Conny and Jessica Marie Conny; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Betty Mitchell of Salem and Margaret VonTuchlinski of Salem; a brother-in-law, Joe (Mary) Birchak of Warren; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, John J. Birchak on May 2, 2001, whom she married on May 20, 1935; her parents, Joseph and Mary (Piestrak) Krehley; two sisters, Verna Krisefski and Margaret Borek; and two brothers, Albert and Joseph Krehley. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, January 22, 2009 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Regina Coeli Catholic Church on Thursday, January 22, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Michael Seifert, as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in the Mausoleum. The family would like to thank the staff at Alliance Community Hospital and Alliance Visiting Nurse and Hospice for the wonderful care that they provided.
