Angelina Searles' Obituary
Angelina (Espino) Searles, 109, of Apollo Beach, Florida and formerly of Alliance passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at 3:50 am at her home in Apollo Beach, Florida.
Born on February 6, 1915 in Corregidor Island, Philippines, to Santiago and Francisca (Liceralde) Espino, she lived in the Sebring and Alliance Areas most of her life.
Angelina was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church and their Altar & Rosary Society.
A graduate of Youngstown State University, Angelina taught 4th grade at BL Miller Elementary School in Sebring for 30 years until her retirement.
She was a member of the Mahoning County Teachers Association, the Alliance Women's Club, a former member of both the Alliance Senior Center and the VFW Post 6730 Auxiliary in Sebring.
Angelina enjoyed playing Bridge and was a member of the National Bridge Association. She also enjoyed dancing and sewing, but especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sports events.
Survivors include her four daughters, Frances L. (Ronald J.) Wilson of Hartville, Linda L. (Richard J.) Kubilus of North Canton, Gloria J. (John) Burmeister of Apollo Beach, FL and Diana (Jeffrey) Fodor of Warren; daughters-in-law, Bonnie Searles of Piqua and Betty Barton of Salem; ten grandchildren, Angie, Frank, Larry Ray, Laura, Michelle, Erica, Ryan, Ashley, Eric and Brett; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Zenaida (Henry) Ostman of Enola, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her second husband, Lawrence Searles; her first husband, killed during WW2, Frank Barton; her two sons, Frank W. Barton and Lawrence Searles; her parents; four brothers, Severino, Anacleto, Rodolfo, and Pacifico Espino; and four sisters, Aquaepto Espino, Simeone Espino, Serapia Espino and Erlinda Pangaldan.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 1, 2024 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 10:00 am at Regina Coeli Catholic Church, with Rev. G. David Weikart as celebrant. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park.
