Andy Galfi's Obituary
Andy Galfi, 71, of Alliance, died on Wednesday, February 27, 2002, at 4:45 a.m., at Green Meadows of Louisville. Born in Alliance on June 19, 1930, he had lived in the Alliance area for all of his life. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Army, and was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 1036. A graduate of Alliance High School, Mr. Galfi was a retired postal worker from the Alliance Post Office. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Daniel Daley of Alliance; son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Gail Galfi of Alliance; three grandsons, Johnny Galfi, Jacob Galfi, and Daniel Gregory Daley; three sisters, Julia Moser of Alliance, Helen Varkonda of Sebring, and Mary Krachenberg of St. Louis, MO; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Julia (Varga) Galfi; his wife, Donna Jean (Jones) Galfi on March 11, 2000, (they were married on July 3, 1954); and a brother, John Galfi. A Private Service will be held at the Alliance City Cemetery Chapel on Friday, March 1, 2002, at 12:00 noon, with the Dr. William Saddler officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
