Alvero "Al" Carli's Obituary
Alvero "Al" Carli, 81, of Alliance, died on Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at 10:55 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. He was born on March 13, 1926 in Alliance, was a graduate of Alliance High School, and lived here all of his life. A U. S. Navy veteran of World War II serving from 1944 - 1946, he was a member of the American Legion Post #166. Al was an estimator for Alliance Machine Company for many years and after his retirement he was employed at Marlington High School in their maintenance department where he later retired. Mr. Carli was a member of the Marlboro Lion s Club, Trentino Alpine Club and the Roma Society. He enjoyed card playing in his younger years and going to auctions more recently. He is survived by his wife, Dolores (Leasure) Carli whom he married on August 5, 1954; a daughter, Tana Carli (Joseph) Dimino of New Hope, PA; a son, Alvin (Michelle) Carli of Alliance; a step-son Terry (Nancy) Leasure of Georgetown, TX; five grandchildren, Carli Dimino, Joseph Dimino, Tadim Leasure, Tiffany Leasure and Todd Leasure; a great-grandson, Noah Leasure; a sister, Betty Bolog of Alliance; and numerous nieces and nephews. Alvero was preceded in death by his parents, August and Mary (Luzzani) Carli; and two brothers, Forrest "Dino" Carli and William "Bill" Carli. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, March 30, 2007 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Msgr. James Kolp, as celebrant. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
