Allen P. "Chick" Hahn's Obituary
Allen P. "Chick" Hahn, Jr., 85, of Alliance, died Monday, February 24, 2003, at 7:48 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born in Alliance on October 1, 1917, he had been a resident of Alliance all of his life. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy and was a U.S. Navel Reserve Instructor at Camp Perry, VA. Mr. Hahn was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He retired after 38 years of service as a shop accountant and timekeeper for American Steel Foundries, and was a member of the Octagon Club at American Steel. Survivors include his wife, Lillian (Rasile) Hahn whom he married on March 30, 1940; daughter, Lynn (William) Wright of Alliance; two grandchildren; two great granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Allen T. and Mary Ann (Pentz) Hahn; a son, Leonard A. in 1952; six sisters, Ethel Balmat, Faye Major, Ruth Ham, Mary Pinkerton, Thelma Rockhill and Velma Schuller; and four brothers, Arthur Hahn, Ray Hahn, Chester Hahn, and Merle Hahn. Friends may call at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 26, 2003, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday, February 27, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht, as celebrant. Burial, with military honors, will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
