Albert "Skip" Marteney's Obituary
Albert “Skip” Marteney, 91, of North Benton, Ohio, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 25, 2018, at Crandall Medical Center in Sebring, Ohio.
Born on February 5, 1927 in Bayard, Ohio, he lived in the Alliance, North Benton area most of his life.
Skip proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. He retired after many years from Morgan Engineering in Alliance. He enjoyed woodworking, watching the wildlife, being outdoors, bus trips, and his family. He attended the North Benton Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orestus A. and Alma Murphy Marteney; his nine brothers and sisters; first wife Janet Marie Kelleher Marteney; daughter Sandra Kay Marteney Wolpert; granddaughter Amy Jo Wolpert.
He is survived by his wife Gloria Hawkins Marteney; children, A. James Marteney (Alice) of Powell, Ohio; Karen Sue Marteney Cully (Grant) of Hilton Head Island, SC; step children Sue Ellen Woolman Deas (Doug) of Berlin Center, OH; Scott Hawkins Woolman (Pam) of Frederick, MD. He is the loving grandfather of 13 grandchildren; dear great-grandfather to 18 great-grandchildren; and beloved Uncle Skip to many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 10:00 – 11:00 am. at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. His Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am, with Rev. Herb Goetz of North Benton Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial with Military Honors will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit, OH.
