Albert L. Bates' Obituary
Albert L. Bates, 52, of Alliance, died on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 6:03 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. He was born on July 19, 1955 in Alliance, and lived in this area all of his life. He served our country with the U. S. Marines and was currently employed at Keener Rubber. Mr. Bates was a member of the Alliance Men s Bowling Association and the USBC (United States Bowling Congress). He enjoyed bowling, horseshoe s and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indian s and the Cleveland Browns. He is survived by two daughters, Rebecca A. Ball and Jodie L. Ball, both of Alliance; one son, Joshua Kirk of Minerva; four grandchildren, Dylan, Azavianna, Bruce III and Alyssa; four sisters, Elsie Virden of East Palestine, Valorie (Roger) Roessler of North Jackson, Alberta (Gerald) McPherson of Alliance and Myrna (Rev. Roger) Dulaney of Alliance; three brothers, Roy (Terri) Bates, Leonard (Sabrina) Bates and Donald Bates, all of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his wife, Paula M. (Walker) Bates on November 26, 1996; his parents, Roy and Isabell (Monseau) Bates; one sister, Ruby; and one brother-in-law, Charles Virden. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, March 10, 2008 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will begin at 6:00 p.m., with Rev. Roger Dulaney officiating. Cremation has already taken place.
