Agnes C. Butler's Obituary
Agnes C. Butler, 99, of Alliance, died on Sunday, September 21, 2003, at 11 :55 p.m. at Canterbury Villa of Alliance. Born in Wheeling, West Virginia on August 17, 1904, she was a resident of Alliance most of her life and retired as a secretary for the Ray Butler Paving Company. Mrs. Butler was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a charter member and past president of the Catholic Women's Club. She was a former member of St. Joseph Mission and the former Women's Guild of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the K of C Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary, and Sleepy Hollow Golf Club. She is survived by a daughter, Kathryn E. O'Neill of Salinas, CA; a son, Raymond Butler of Alliance; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Raymond W. Butler on May 14, 1955, they were married on May 8, 1924; her parents, Charles and Anna (O'Donnell) Webster; six sisters, Elizabeth Hawley, Ann Webster, Blanche Whitcomb, Virginia Lisk, Nell Maher, and Phoebe Campbell; and two brothers, Albert Webster and Edward Webster. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 24, 2003, from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 24, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
