Agnes Burdick-Young 's Obituary
Agnes (Karlson) Burdick Young, 90, of Sebring, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 9:40 am at Crandall Medical Center in Sebring, Ohio.
She was born on November 5, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio to William and Corrine (Esser) Beckman and was raised from infancy by her aunt and uncle, Karl E. and Adina Karlson.
Agnes’s family moved to North Muskegon Michigan in the mid 1930's where she graduated from North Muskegon High School in 1943. After graduation, she worked for the Navy Department in Muskegon.
The family returned to Cleveland where she worked for the General Accounting Office during WWII.
Agnes married George O. Burdick on April 27, 1946 and he died on October 23, 1992.
She was a past member of the Marlboro Junior Women's Club and the Rubber Capital Harmonica Club.
During her many years at Copeland Oaks, she met numerous friends, enjoyed her walks with grandchildren around their campus and loved to watch their birds. She volunteered and enjoyed doing many activities while living at Copeland Oaks for almost 20 years.
Agnes is survived by her three daughters, Sara (Edward) McGuire of Alliance, Catherine (Duff) Beamer of Alliance, Gwen (Thomas) Liverett of Hartville, OH; two sons, Thomas (Connie) Burdick of Loveland, CO, and John Burdick of Spokane, WA; a loved brother-in-law, Fred Alderman of Columbus, OH; a special nephew, Bob Conklin; 12 grandchildren: Teri, Kimberly, Heather, Jill, Rob, Emma, Corrie, Jennifer, Brianne, Rhonda, Ronalee and Jodie; 15 great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Jesse, Gabbie, Devonte, Brandon, Marissa, Zachary, Mia, Mace, Katherine, Marta, James, Rebecca, Ryan and Daniel; 3 step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George O. Burdick; her second husband, Paul M. Young; her parents; a sister, Martha Alderman; and a brother, Ed Karlson.
The family will receive friends at the Marlboro Cemetery Chapel on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Her Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Edward Harnish officiating. Interment will follow at Marlboro Cemetery.
