Ada Monter's Obituary
Ada Marie (Ranft) Monter passed away at Stone Creek Memory Care on Friday, November 10, 2023 with her family by her side.
She was born August 4, 1929 in Alliance, Ohio to Clarence and Pauline (Richards) Ranft.
Ada was a lifelong resident of Alliance, Ohio. After high school she worked at Supreme Dairy for a short time. She enrolled in beauty school and then opened her own beauty salon, The Gingham Girl.
She was a lifetime member of Christ United Methodist Church.
She loved spending time with her family, her dogs, and especially all her grandchildren. Ada was an avid bingo player, doing puzzle books, reading romance novels, crocheting, watching the Cleveland Indians, and shopping.
Survivors include her daughter, Pauline (Jeffrey) Smith of North Benton; granddaughter, Jessica (TJ) Brunoni of Alliance; grandson, Jason (Aleta) Smith of Columbus, Mississippi; great-grandchildren, Alex Smith, Alyssa Smith, Gage Brunoni, Wyatt Brunoni and Chase Brunoni; niece, Ada (John) Briden; nephews, John (Laura) Briden and Jim (Regina) Briden; and great-nieces, Tori Briden and Katie Kennedy.
Ada was preceded in death by her husband, William Monter; her parents, Clarence and Pauline (Richards) Ranft; sister, Florence (Virgil) Dutton; brother, Cy Ranft; and uncle, Lawrence Ranft.
We have a memory we carry in our heart of a life full of love and family, made beautiful by kindly deeds, always a helping hand for others' needs. So generous was her heart, we love you.
A special thank you to our Traditions Hospice family and our extended family at Stone Creek Memory Care. We will never forget the care and love you gave her, you are truly special people.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 11:00 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
