A. Thomas "Red" Micketti's Obituary
A. Thomas "Red" Micketti, 76, of Alliance, died on Friday, July 9, 2004, at his residence. Born in Alliance on June 10, 1928, Red was a lifetime resident here and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was first employed at the former Maloney's Machine Shop and later at Tolerton Lumber Co. He retired in 1996 from the Waterworks Department for the City of Alliance. After retiring, he became a realtor for Hume for Homes and until the time of his death, he was a realtor and certified appraiser for Union Station Agency. Red was a huge sports fan and had played baseball in summer leagues for many years. He had also enjoyed his talent in creating colored pencil drawings and watercolor and oil paintings. A member of the Alliance Art Center and Colored Pencil Society of America for many years, he was also a member of the Stark County Assoc. of Realtors as well as the State and National Associations. He was also a member of the National Residential Appraisers Institute. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Woody McCallum of Alliance; daughter and son-in- law, Toni and Keith Kramer of Alliance; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Debbie Micketti of Alliance; six grandchildren, Chris (Jeneen) McCallum, Sandi (Mike) Zemrock, Ashli Micketti, Kelly Micketti, Katie Kramer and Emily Kramer; three great- grandchildren, Austen Zemrock, Griffen Thomas Zemrock and Elijah McCallum; three sisters, Eleanor Mangino, Helen Mangino and Ida Barber, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette F. Peggy (Vicars) Micketti on August 28, 1998; his parents, Antonio and Maria (Castellucci) Micketti; and two sisters, Ann Rich and Virgina Welch. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling- Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, July 12, 2004, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at 11 :00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
