My sweet neighbor Joe, who always gave me rhubarb and garlic, who was never without a treat in his pocket for Atlas and Violet, who loved to share his stories about the good old days (and after 94 years, there were a lot of good old days to recount), who was a Navy veteran and who would do anything for anyone in need. This sweet man Joe was like a surrogate Grandpa to me. He was kind, he was funny, he was generous, he was always happy to see me and his "grandpups", he was a bright spot on every walk, he was my friend and he will be dearly missed.
