William L. Marshall

June 15, 1933 - September 28, 2019

William L. "Bill" Marshall, 86, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 1:22 pm at Danbury Senior Living in Alliance. Born on June 15, 1933 in Alliance, to Frank and Burl (Shaw) Marshall, he lived in the Sebring and Alliance areas all of his life. He attended Sebring McKinley High School, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Bill was employed at White Engines in Canton for over 30 years and was a member of the Alliance Coin Club. He enjoyed working in his yard, watching birds, and had a strong love for animals. He especially loved spending time with his friends and family. Bill had a wonderful sense of humor and was a very kind and compassionate man. He had a love for God’s Word. Survivors include his second wife, Eloise J. (Rouse) Marshall, whom he married on August 20, 2004; his daughter, Jodi (Jeff) Thompson of Alliance; two grandchildren, Joshua (his fiancée Michelle Chiappini) Thompson of Canton and Matthew (Megan) Thompson of Alliance; his sister, Jennie Lowman of Alliance; two step-daughters, Cathy Sanor of Beloit and Donna (George) Jackson of Salem; a step-son, Timothy (Nora) Haynes of Chino, CA; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his first wife, Erma K. Marshall; his parents; two sisters, Veda Benner and Edna Stanley; three brothers, Bob, Jackie, and Dareld Marshall; a step-daughter, Nancy Lucas; and two step-sons, Richard and Ron Snyder. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. His Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Rev. Jeff Caldwell, of Maranatha Ministries, officiating. Burial, with military honors, will immediately follow at Fairmount Memorial Park. Memorial contributions are suggested to Ohio Ornithological Society, www.ohiobirds.org .
