Louis E. “Louie” Skivolocke, 69, of Alliance, died on Wednesday, June 15, 1994 at 2:41 pm in the Emergency Room at Alliance Community Hospital, following a heart attack. Born on June 6, 1925 in Homeworth, Ohio to Louis T. and O. Mary (Valentine) Skivolocke, he lived in Alliance for all of his life. Louie was member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was the owner and operator of the former Skivy’s Sewing Center in downtown Alliance for many years. He had retired from Transue & Williams Stamping Plant. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Amy. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 166, and was also a life member of the VFW Post #1036. He was a member of the Christopher Columbus Society, the Dante Alighieri Society, and the Roma Club. Survivors include his three children; Danny Skivolocke, of Alliance; Larry Skivolocke, of Alliance; and Lorna Mills, of Newport Beach, Calif.; two grandchildren; three sisters , Doletta (Forest) Gallina, of Alliance; Helen (Al) DeStephen, of Alliance, and Doris (Robert) Runion, of Sebring; a brother, Frank Skivolocke, of Boardman, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Louis T. and O. Mary (Valentine) Skivolocke. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 19,1994, from 6:00-9:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church, on Monday, June 20, 1994 at 10:00 am., with Rev. Donald L.Feicht, as Celebrant. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
