Everett W. Rice Jr.

August 30, 1944 - April 1, 2022

Everett W. Rice, Jr., 77, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Canterbury Villa of Alliance. Born on August 30, 1944 in Coalton, Ohio to Everett W. and Ruth Ann (Dixon) Rice Sr., he lived in Alliance most of his life. A 1964 graduate of Alliance High School, Everett was a member of Alliance Baptist Temple. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served our country in the U.S. Army. Everett was employed at East Manufacturing in the maintenance department and retired in 2016 after 47 years of service. Everett enjoyed working on cars, riding ATVs and dune buggys. He is survived by his wife, JoAnne (Scott) Rice, whom he married on August 9, 1969; two daughters, Deborah (Charles) Smyers and Rebekah (Joseph) Knoch both of Hartville; his son, John (Jennifer) Rice of Hartville; eight grandchildren, Juliette, Seth and Kensington Smyers, Lane, Payton and Ty Knoch, & Natalie and Claire Rice; sister, Joyce Stoudt of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; his sister, Golda VanKirk; and three brothers, Charles, Richard and Curtis Rice. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. His Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am with Rev. Randy Payne, of Alliance Baptist Temple, officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alliance Baptist Temple, 1441 W. Vine St, Alliance, OH 44601.
