Dear Paul and Children,
It is with sadness that I learned this afternoon of Patty's sudden illness and passing. Paul, it was only a week ago that you and I spoke in front of our home as I was cutting grass and you were doing your grandfatherly shuttle of grandchildren between New Baltimore athletic fields and off in another direction for another grandchild on the other side of Alliance.
Patty was a wonderful friend throughout high school years and beyond, and you and she were great parents in the Marlington system. Our children were contemporaries and I am saddened that I was not able to convey this message personally as I did not know of Patty's passing until later this afternoon as I returned from work in Canton. Please accept our condolences on the loss to your family, and the entire community.

I joked with Pat that I was glad I was a Trieff so I didn't have to marry a Trieff, but her love story with Ted is one of the best I know. We are all shocked and sad over the loss of such a beautiful person inside and out. Pat was smart and fun and just an all around good person. She and Ted raised a beautiful family in Chris, Matt and Kate that will carry her memory forward. I know you will wrap yourselves in the strength and comfort of each other sharing memories while laughing and crying. Our thoughts and our hearts are with you all!

Patty and I were friends many, many years ago. Lost track of her when I got married. We use to have so much fun together... She was a caring, lovable person.
