Daniel T. Skivolocke
Owner/Funeral Director/Embalmer
Dan Skivolocke began his career in funeral service when he accepted a position at Sharer Funeral Home in 1971 and has been employed with the funeral home since. He received his Embalmer and Funeral Director’s license in 1979 after completing his education from St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Kent State University, and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, where he served as class treasurer.
He purchased Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home in 1986. Mr. Skivolocke is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association and the Ohio Funeral Directors Association. He is also a member and Past President of District 16 of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association. He is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a 25-year member of the 3rd and 4th Degrees of the Knights of Columbus, Council #558. He devotes his time to many civic and community service organizations, including the Alliance Area Chamber of Commerce where he is a member of their Board of Directors; the Community Betterment Committee, Alliance Kiwanis Club, the B.P.O. Elks Lodge #467, and the Christopher Columbus Society. He is a Life Member of the Alliance Historical Society and the Mabel Hartzell Historical House. Dan often presents programs on the history of Alliance to many area clubs and organizations.
